Musée des Arts et Métiers

cnamA meeting place for the academic and professional worlds, the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers is the only higher education institution dedicated to lifelong vocational training.
Founded in the midst of the French Revolution by a decree of the Convention, on 10 October 1794, on the proposal of Abbé Henri Grégoire, the CNAM is also a unique institution of higher education in our country by virtue of its history, its heritage, the importance of its network both in the territories and internationally, as well as by the diversity of its actions.
The Musée des Arts et Métiers can be considered as one of the oldest technical and industrial museums in the world. Since 1794, the collections have been enriched by numerous contributions, precious witnesses of the evolution of scientific knowledge and technical progress. Today, the museum has an exceptional collection, remarkable both for its size (nearly 80,000 objects and 15,000 drawings) and for the diversity of the themes covered.
